The future looks extremely bright for Grant Lavigne. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in OLL Rookie League.
Lavigne has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the OLL Rookie League Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .296 this year, that's for sure," the first baseman said.
The Minot Sluggers star also put up a .448 on-base percentage this year, with 66 hits, 18 doubles, no triples, 21 home runs, 66 RBIs and 64 runs scored.
He received 20 first place votes out of a possible 26. Estiven Machado of the Minot Sluggers finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Milan Tolentino of the Medford Aviators finished third.
