McKay Gets Award for Relief Work

At the young age of only 24, Tyler McKay has been named the OLL Class A Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2021.

The future appears bright for the Chula Vista Corsairs relief ace, who captured the award with 19 saves in 36 relief appearances, 142 strikeouts in 97 innings and a record of 11-5 to go with his 2.60 ERA.

He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 26. Trenton Denholm of the Akron Chippers finished second in voting with 10 first place votes, while Daniel Procopio of the Colorado Springs Armadillos finished third with 1 first place vote.
