Thornhill Will Sit Out 3 Games, Suspended by League Friday, August 20th, 2021 Steve Thornhill of the Riverside Keys has been reprimanded and given a 3-game suspension for a shouting match with the plate umpire during a recent game at Ballpark of Red Lodge with the Red Lodge Minutemen. The Keys third baseman said he didn't touch the umpire, but the umpire insisted he did. "I didn't see it, I didn't feel it," Thornhill said. "I was trying everything I could not to make contact with him. The league always sides with umpires. There is no use to appeal." Thus far this year Thornhill is batting .235 with 13 home runs, 39 RBIs and 55 runs scored. |
