Murphy and Vermillion Suspended for Free-for-All Monday, August 16th, 2021 If there wasn't a history between Hayden Murphy of Fremont and Zebulon Vermillion of Scottsdale, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 7 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Murphy said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." This year Murphy has a 0-5 record with a 10.16 ERA. Vermillion has gone to the hill for 53 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 4-4 record with a 3.84 ERA. The Scottsdale reliever has limited opposing batters to a .210 batting average. |
