Genovese Voted Best OA Pitcher in July Sunday, August 1st, 2021 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Nick Genovese, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Orlando Defenders closer, 23, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .169 average and walked away with the OLL Class A Pitcher of the Month award for July. Genovese posted a 1-0 mark and a 0.53 ERA in 14 relief appearances. In 17 innings, he had 11 saves, 25 strikeouts, and 4 walks. Genovese has made 39 games so far this year with 28 saves. In 46.1 innings he has dished out 59 strikeouts and walked 15 with a 1-3 mark and a 1.55 ERA. |
