Red Lodge Comes up Empty Against Wilson
Sunday, July 25th, 2021
All went well for Tommy Wilson of the DeLeon Springs Mets as he pitched his team to a 5-0 shutout victory over the Red Lodge Minutemen, limiting them to 3 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Wilson on the day.
"Tommy's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Mets manager Robin Ventura. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the DeLeon Springs right-hander rang up 5 and surrendered no walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Minutemen manager Gary Matthews. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
So far in 12 appearances this season, Wilson has recorded 4 wins and sustained 3 losses. He has pitched 69 innings, yielded 71 hits, fanned 70 and has a 2.61 ERA.
