Season Over for Jake Zilinski in Akron Thursday, July 22nd, 2021 The season is apparently over for Jake Zilinski. The Akron Chippers medical staff informed the club that the closer will be out at least 5 months with a torn labrum. Zilinski was hurt in the game against Anchorage while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season. This season Zilinski has 4 saves. In 13 relief appearances he has hurled 15.1 innings, struck out 18 and given up 5 walks with a 3-0 record. The Akron reliever has recorded a 1.76 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .196 when he is on the hill. |
