Season Ends for Sam Carlson of Salyersville
Tuesday, June 1st, 2021
When Salyersville reliever Sam Carlson was taken out of the game, the crowd at the Blue Jays-Steeldogs game went silent as they could tell that it was a serious injury. That was confirmed today by doctors when they revealed that Carlson had sustained a torn ulnar collateral ligament and will be out for about 13 months.
Carlson has taken the mound for 19 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-1 record with a 4.13 ERA. The Salyersville reliever has limited opposing batters to a .277 batting average.
