Rowdy Players Suspended by League Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 If there wasn't a history between Francis Martinez of Chula Vista and Jared Southard of Holden, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Martinez said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Currently Martinez has 17 home runs and a .277 batting average. In 10 starts this season Southard has compiled a 2-5 record and a 4.84 ERA. |
