Milkshakes Beat New York, 2-1
|
The New York Yaks got a sterling performance from pitcher Clayton Kershaw, but the Milwaukee Milkshakes still prevailed, 2-1. Kershaw threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Milwaukee reliever Logan Webb picked up the win, while Jasseel De La Cruz took the loss for New York. Andres Munoz notched his 28th save in 32 chances.
Milwaukee used a clutch hit from Kyle Schwarber to get the win. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Milkshakes ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Milwaukee skipper mmaude .
Milwaukee has now won 4 in a row.
