Archers Win at New York, 11-3
|
The Baltimore Archers had no problem beating the New York Yaks, 11-3, at Yaks Ballpark. Willie Calhoun led the way. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for Baltimore. The loss drops the Yaks to 7-4.
Baltimore used a well-timed hit by Evan White to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Archers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I still think this team can play even better," White told the Baltimore Bulletin.
