Joseph Ortiz Wins OS A Trophy Monday, August 17th, 2020 22-year-old Joseph Ortiz made a few Odessa headlines during this past week as the rookie shortstop proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and OLL Short Season A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 11 hits in 23 at-bats to put up a .478 average. Ortiz collected 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 10 runs. Ortiz is hitting .374 this year with 5 home runs and 19 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .431, 9 walks and scored 14 times. |
