Gau Twirls 2-0 Shutout Monday, August 31st, 2020 Christopher Gau subdued the Wichita Power, 2-0, pitching a 4-hit gem for the Amarillo Mud Hens at Mud Hens Ballpark. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Amarillo skipper Josh Hiegel said afterward. Gau registered 7 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in his superb performance. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Wichita manager Ryan Burton after the defeat. Gau has made 14 starts so far this year and put up a 4-6 won-lost record with a 3.87 ERA. In 79 innings he has allowed 75 hits, walked 28 and struck out 85. View Boxscore |
