Rooker and Reed Fight, Get Suspended Friday, July 10th, 2020 Yesterday at Bengals Ballpark Brent Rooker and Cody Reed got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Placitas Bengals and Oceanside Tincaps. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Rooker will have to sit out 4 while Reed would be given a 2-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This season Rooker is batting .231 with 21 home runs. His totals include 48 RBIs and 47 runs scored. This year Reed has made 20 relief appearances with no saves. In 38.2 innings, he has fanned 53 hitters and recorded 1 win and 1 loss with a 2.09 ERA. |
