Wallner of North Salem Crowned Best Player Monday, August 30th, 2021 23-year-old Matt Wallner made a few North Salem headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and OLL Double A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 8 hits in 21 at-bats to put up a .381 average. Wallner collected 4 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 6 runs. So far this year Wallner has 33 home runs and a .216 batting average. |
