Gil Gets No-Hitter Against Lincoln Thursday, August 12th, 2021 Excitement reigned at Fire Dogs Ballpark today as Mobile Red Foxes hurler Luis Gil tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter. After defeating the Lincoln Fire Dogs, 5-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments. "I'm just glad to be here," Gil said. "Today I just went right at the Fire Dogs as hard as I could, as long as I could." Gil chalked up 7 strikeouts and allowed 4 walks in his superb performance. "I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said Mobile manager Michael Daniel. Gil has gone 6-3 this season with an ERA of 3.19 and 113 strikeouts in 73.1 innings pitched.
