Gil Mows Down 16 Tar Heels Tuesday, July 27th, 2021 Mobile Red Foxes starter Luis Gil brought his best stuff to Red Foxes Stadium today against the Chesapeake Tar Heels, striking out 16 batters in his club's 3-2 victory. In a strong performance, the 23-year-old Gil gave up 1 hit in his 6 innings of work and issued no walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my fastball was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." This year Gil has a 3-3 record with a 4.22 ERA in 11 starts. View Boxscore |
