Hess Grabs OAAA Reliever of the Year Award
Friday, October 8th, 2021
At the age of 24, Zack Hess says he still has a lot to learn about life in OLL Triple A.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Knoxville Diamond Cats reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2021 OLL Triple A Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Forest, Virginia native said.
For the season, Hess had 11 saves in 48 relief appearances, which totaled 53. He fanned 95 betters, while walking 26 and put up a record of 6-2 to go with his 1.70 ERA.
He received 21 first place votes out of a possible 26. David Bednar of the Jackson Arrows finished second in voting, while Walker Lockett of the Grand Rapids Pipers finished third with 4 first place votes.
