Junis Shuts Out Gilbert Friday, September 17th, 2021 The Little Rock Purple Warriors shut out the Gilbert Steamrollers 6-0 today behind the strong pitching of Jakob Junis. Junis surrendered only 3 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 9. Following the last out, Junis appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Gilbert manager Kevin Boles, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Junis's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart. The Steamrollers skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Purple Warriors press conference, Junis confirmed that it was regarding the celebration. "He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Junis said. "And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Little Rock manager Cole Linscomb added.
