Total Control: Eaton No-Hit by Castro
Wednesday, August 25th, 2021
Cincinnati Defenders starter Anthony Castro came up big today at Blackbirds Ballpark with an exceptional 1-0 outing against the Eaton Blackbirds. Not only did he whip them, but Castro held them hitless, too.
"My arm was a bit sore in warmups," confessed Castro. "Sometimes you go out there and you're not feeling all that hot. You get into the game and all of a sudden in the seventh inning you look up and see the scoreboard and think to yourself, 'Oh, my goodness, I have a no-hitter!' You're so focused on what you're doing, it just happens."
In the course of the no-hitter, Castro collected 12 strikeouts and surrendered 5 walks -- a day good enough to get his name in the history books.
To date this season Castro is 4-2 with 9 starts and an ERA of 1.96 with 85 strikeouts in 59.2 innings.
