Mavericks Heredia and Armada Hancock Suspended for Fight Tuesday, August 24th, 2021 Yesterday at Ballpark of Modesto Guillermo Heredia and Emerson Hancock got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Modesto Mavericks and Concordia Armada. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Heredia will have to sit out 4 while Hancock would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year Heredia is batting .244 with 93 hits and 10 home runs. He has scored 52 times and has batted in 49 runs. |
