Irate Zimmer Suspended 4 Games
Wednesday, August 11th, 2021
The league office has taken action against Grand Rapids center fielder Bradley Zimmer for inappropriate action and aggressive conduct in the Pipers game against the Colstrip Privateers. He has been issued a 4-game suspension.
Zimmer was ejected from the game yesterday after arguing a called third strike. He first argued with the plate umpire. Then Zimmer moved up the first-base line, waving his fists at the umpire as the dispute continued. As he left the field, he also argued with the crew chief, who was umpiring at third base. His manager finally convinced him to leave the field as the umpires were threatening to forfeit the game.
Presently Zimmer is hitting .158 with 6 home runs and 23 RBIs. He has played in 58 games and scored 29 times.
