Urshela Hitless, Streak Ends at 21 Friday, September 24th, 2021 It just wasn't Gio Urshela's day. The Tucson Dust Devils took the 3-2 win today over the New Orleans Simules, but the Simules mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 21-game hitting streak of Dust Devils third baseman Gio Urshela. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Urshela," New Orleans manager MikeLikesBaseball commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Dust Devils have other hitters and they did their job today." Currently Urshela is batting .261 with 23 home runs, 83 RBIs and 74 runs scored. |
