Free-for-All Costs Marte and Ferguson 4-Game Suspensions Saturday, September 18th, 2021 The fans at The Grove saw it all yesterday in the Sycamores-Trash Pandas game -- pushes, shoves, scuffles, a few tackles, a few swings, a few feeble punches -- and a baseball game, too. When the ruckus was over, only two players were sent to the showers by the umpire crew. Brooklyn's Starling Marte and Oklahoma City's Caleb Ferguson were ejected from the game. Today the two players were suspended 4 games by the league commissioner. So far this year Marte is batting .301 with 19 home runs. Ferguson has taken the hill for 70 relief appearances this season, nailing down 4 saves while notching a 7-1 record with a 1.78 ERA. The Oklahoma City reliever has limited opposing batters to a .185 batting average. |
