Olson Makes History with Home Run Saturday, September 18th, 2021 Home run number 63 shot off his bat like a bullet, soared into the sky, and then disappeared into the stands today at The Grove, breaking the single-season record held previously by Max Muncy. Now it belongs solely to Matt Olson of the Brooklyn Sycamores. His manager praised Olson for his work ethic. "Matt is totally focused on what he does, from hitting to running down the line. He doesn't go through the motions." Matt Olson struck out in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Justin Verlander in the 6th and homered off Caleb Ferguson in the 8th. Hitting .293 to date, Olson has 63 home runs and 150 RBIs. He has played in 147 games. |
