Bang-up Game: Torres Slams 3 Homers Friday, September 17th, 2021 Today was a special one for Gleyber Torres of the Baltimore Archers as he slammed three home runs in the 8-3 win over the Tucson Dust Devils. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Baltimore second baseman collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Tucson Dust Bowl. Gleyber Torres hit a solo-shot off Daniel Lynch in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Daniel Lynch in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Daniel Lynch in the 6th, walked in the 7th and was hit by a pitch in the 9th. So far this year Torres is hitting .288 with 49 home runs. |
