Murder Hornets End Franco's Streak Sunday, September 12th, 2021 It was the best of both worlds for the Austin Murder Hornets today at Ragin Cajuns Ballpark, as they defeated the Memphis Ragin Cajuns 15-4 and also snapped Wander Franco's 20-game hitting streak. The 20-year-old Memphis shortstop failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Franco, we just wanted to win the game," said Murder Hornets skipper walt526 . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Franco frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Franco is batting .321 this year with 11 home runs, 83 RBIs and 83 runs scored. He has 187 hits in 582 at-bats. |
