Smashing Success: Robert Wallops 3 HR Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 Ft. Worth Sun Kings center fielder Luis Robert put on a dazzling display of power today at Ft. Worth Ballpark of the Kings against the Austin Murder Hornets. In the 12-10 Sun Kings victory Robert penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Austin manager walt526 said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 24-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Robert said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Luis Robert hit a two-run home run off Bryan Hudson in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ross Stripling in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Jose Castillo in the 8th. Currently Robert is hitting .286 and has collected 34 home runs, 98 RBIs and scored 55 times, while playing in 97 games. |
