Season-Ending Injury for Charlie Morton
Wednesday, August 4th, 2021
The doctors have spoken and Charlie Morton of the Albuquerque Isotopes didn't like what he heard. The 37-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Morton sustained his season-ending injury during the Rochester Squirrel Cats game yesterday at Rochester Grounds. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Albuquerque medical staff reported Morton had a stretched elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10 months.

During this season Morton has 8 relief appearances and registered 0 saves. Batters are hitting him at a .292 rate and his season record is 0-0 with a 2.77 ERA. He has logged 13 innings and struck out 6.
