Simules Shut Out Carp Streamers, Cole Winner Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 The Charlotte Carp Streamers were almost helpless today in their 4-0 loss to the New Orleans Simules and hurler Gerrit Cole. Cole kept the Carp Streamers confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Cole," Charlotte manager Henry.Woodbury said in his postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 30-year-old right-hander had no walks and 11 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Cole said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." This year in 23 starts, Cole has recorded 15 wins and absorbed 3 losses.
