Rojas on Fire, 5-for-6 Against Mesa
Friday, July 2nd, 2021
The Fresno Jumbo Shrimp stopped the Mesa Barracudas by a score of 21-12 at Barracudas Ballpark today, with the lion's share of the credit going to shortstop Miguel Rojas. The 32-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Rojas said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Rojas did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Barracudas.
"Not much that I can say," offered Mesa manager tuggernuts . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Miguel Rojas flied out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Spencer Turnbull in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, tripled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Rojas has batted at a .287 pace with 76 hits, 9 home runs, 41 RBIs and scored 32 times.
