Steelhounds on to World Series
|
The Rancho Cucamonga Steelhounds are one step closer to the World Series.
The club prevailed 2-1 at Ballpark of Newark tonight to eliminate the Newark Crawdads and advance to the World Series.
The Steelhounds won the series by a 4-2 margin, with second baseman and series MVP Isan Diaz leading the way.
"I'm proud of all the guys," Diaz said. "This was a team effort, not just me."
The Rancho Cucamonga Steelhounds will play against the Little Rock Purple Warriors in the next round. Little Rock won their series against the Gilbert Steamrollers 4 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
