Volcanoes Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Sycamores
|
The Brooklyn Sycamores grabbed a win, 6-4, over the Phoenix Volcanoes at The Grove. Brooklyn catcher Daulton Varsho went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Brooklyn pitcher Reggie McClain got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Oliver Drake got the loss. Phoenix now has a 5-game losing streak.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Varsho hit a splitter from Oliver Drake for a 2-run home run. The Sycamores, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This place was rocking at the end," Varsho said.
