Nightcaps Edge Metro Stars, 5-4
|
The streak continues for Nashville.
The performance of Sheldon Neuse proved critical in helping Nashville beat El Paso, 5-4. The Nightcaps third baseman went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Nashville reliever Fernando Romero picked up the win, raising his record to 4-2. Alex Wood was tagged with the loss.
In the bottom of the sixth, Nashville left fielder Garrett Hampson put his team on top. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he hit his 2nd home run of the year. El Paso pitcher Alex Wood served it up. Just like that, the Nightcaps were ahead, 5-4.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Nightcaps manager jacochri , "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
The winning continues for Nashville, with the latest making it 12 straight.
