Squirrel Cats Win at Denver, 5-1
|
The Denver Moose got a superb performance from pitcher Dinelson Lamet. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Rochester. The Squirrel Cats won the game, 5-1. Lamet threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Tyler Chatwood earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 7-2. The triumph puts Rochester at 34-31 for the season.
Rochester used the bat of Gavin Lux to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Squirrel Cats ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Lux told the Rochester Daily: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
