Fans watched the Denver Moose and the Rochester Squirrel Cats fight to the finish.
The Denver Moose racked up a win at The Swamp, bumping off the Rochester Squirrel Cats, 4-3. Michael Kopech, who started for Denver, pitched effectively for his team. Kopech got the win, improving to 2-8. He allowed 8 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Kopech allowed 3 runs. Josh Hader was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 20 save opportunities.
The Moose got a big at-bat from left fielder Juan Soto. For the game, Soto went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Denver a 3-2 lead.
"We did a lot of things right," said Kopech.
The 7th-place Moose now have a win-loss record of 31-33.
