Isotopes Deal Jabberwocks 7-4 Defeat

Albuquerque and Greensboro duked it out and the Isotopes came out victorious.
With shortstop Manny Machado leading the charge, the Albuquerque Isotopes defeated the Greensboro Jabberwocks, 7-4, at The Bandersnatch. Machado, who signed a 10-year contract worth $252,700,000 on 12/28/2020, was 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs. Riley O'Brien picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 11 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 3-2. Ian Hamilton closed the door for Albuquerque, picking up his 5th save of the year.
With Albuquerque leading 3-2 in the top of the fourth, Machado hit a run-scoring single off Greensboro hurler Vince Velasquez. It was the 55th hit of the season for Machado and put his team ahead, 4-2.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Machado. "But I have better dreams after a win."
The win gives Albuquerque a season record of 27-27.
