Mazara Slugs Spiders to 9-8 Win
|
Behind a fine performance from Nomar Mazara, the Cleveland Spiders knocked off the Milwaukee Milkshakes, 9-8. Mazara belted 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Spiders. The winner was Sixto Sanchez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Philip Pfeifer took the loss. Getting the save was Sam Tuivailala, his 1st.
Brandon Lowe hit a run-scoring double off Philip Pfeifer in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Spiders in front, 9-8. In addition to the double, Lowe had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Lowe said.
Cleveland has 4 straight wins, Milwaukee 4 straight losses.
