The New York Yaks took Austin pitcher Jose Berrios's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Hornet Nest. The final score had New York getting past the Murder Hornets, 5-3. New York left fielder Andrew McCutchen said he wanted to hit the ball hard when he batted in the top of the ninth. He not only hit it hard, he hit a fastball from Dellin Betances deep for a 3-run home run. It resulted in a 4-3 lead for New York.

McCutchen told a New York Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
