Cole Lays Hammer Down in 2-0 Win
New Orleans rode a fine outing from starter Gerrit Cole to victory over the Fresno Jumbo Shrimp at The Crustacean Station. The final score was 2-0. Edwin Diaz earned the save for New Orleans, his 11th of the year. The Simules, at 26-15, lead by one game in their division.

Cole, who leaned on his curveball, allowed no runs on just 1 hit over 8 innings for the Simules. For the most part, Fresno hitters were simply overmatched.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Cole.
