Diaz Tosses 8-0 Shutout
|
Yennsy Diaz hurled a fine game for the Lincoln Fire Dogs at Ballpark of Garland today, holding the Garland Ocelots to 1 hit in a shutout win.
"When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," Lincoln manager Denny Bos said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."
The right-hander had 9 strikeouts and no walks in the 8-0 victory.
"An outstanding job," Garland manager Steve Liddle said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."
In 18 starts this season Diaz has compiled a 10-4 record and a 2.90 ERA.
