Squirrel Cats Win at Albuquerque, 4-3
|
The Meltdown was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Rochester Squirrel Cats and Albuquerque Isotopes.
The Rochester Squirrel Cats defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes, 4-3, in Ottoneu Lockdown League action at The Meltdown. Rochester pitcher Thomas Szapucki had a standout performance. The win elevated the Squirrel Cats to 20-18.
Rochester used the clutch hitting of Mitch Haniger to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Squirrel Cats ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We take it day by day here," said Haniger, "and today was a good one for us."
