Perez Hits Two Homers in 5-1 Win for Nashville
|
The Nashville Nightcaps knocked off the Indianapolis Gearheads, 5-1, at The Junkyard. Salvador Perez was a big reason Nashville won. The catcher belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Mitchell White picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 3-0. Freddy Peralta earned the save for Nashville, his 8th of the year.
Perez had a timely hit for Nashville in the top of the seventh. With Indianapolis trailing 1-0, he turned a 2-1 slider into a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 3-1, Nashville.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Perez. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
The 6th-place Nightcaps have won 4 straight games.
