Charlotte Spoils Terrific Game by VanMeter
|
The inspired effort of Charlotte second baseman Josh VanMeter was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-8, to the Baltimore Archers. VanMeter hit 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2. Baltimore has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
The result might have been different, had it not been for Willie Calhoun, the Baltimore designated hitter. Calhoun had a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Archers ahead, 8-7. For the game, Calhoun had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager damgagnon .
