The Indianapolis Gearheads defeated the Mesa Barracudas, 11-5, at Barracudas Ballpark. Indianapolis left fielder Michael Brantley had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Indianapolis pitcher Spencer Howard got the win. He's now 2-0. Rick Porcello was tagged with the loss. The loss makes Mesa 13-14.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Charlie Blackmon? The Indianapolis right fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Gearheads on top, 2-0. For the game, Blackmon had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
