Moose Top Volcanoes in Extras, 3-2
|
People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.
The Denver Moose took Phoenix pitcher Cory Abbott's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Swamp. The final score had Denver getting past the Volcanoes, 3-2. Abbott went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. Denver reliever Richard Lovelady was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Kodi Whitley.
The Moose procured the win, in large part because of first baseman Alec Bohm. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Bohm said.
The loss drops the Volcanoes to 7-12.
