Denver Wins, Soto 4-5
|
The Denver Moose relied on the hitting of left fielder Juan Soto to stop the El Paso Metro Stars, 7-5. For the game, Soto was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Josh Hader sewed up the save, his 4th. The win gives Denver a record of 9-8.
Soto had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch curveball from Andrew Kittredge, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Moose a 7-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Soto.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Soto told the Denver Daily. "It's as simple as that."
