Muncy Delivers Walk-Off Win for Gearheads
|
In a tight contest at The Junkyard, the Indianapolis Gearheads edged the Charlotte Carp Streamers by the score of 7-6. Indianapolis center fielder Mike Trout, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Indianapolis reliever Lucas Sims was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Jorge Guzman took the loss. The loss drops the Carp Streamers to 8-10.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Indianapolis third baseman Max Muncy, facing Ty Buttrey, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Gearheads the 7-6 win.
"I'm proud to wear a Indianapolis jersey," Trout told the Indianapolis Citizen. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
