Sun Kings Come Up Short at Albuquerque, 3-2
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes faced a tough opponent in Ft. Worth pitcher Chris Sale, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Meltdown by a final score of 3-2. Sale went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Ian Hamilton converted his 17th save in 21 tries. Albuquerque occupies 5th place in the Ottoneu Lockdown League Yelich Division at 72-76.
Albuquerque designated hitter Miguel Andujar contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider into right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 157th hit of the season and put the Isotopes ahead, 3-2.
Andujar told a Albuquerque Chronicle reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
