Fury Prevail, 2-1, Over Brooklyn
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Seattle Fury and Brooklyn Sycamores.
Seattle left-hander Brendan McKay pitched his team to victory over the Brooklyn Sycamores at The Grove. The final score was 2-1. The winning pitcher was McKay, now 7-8. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Zack Kelly was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for Luis Torrens, the 25-year old catcher . Torrens contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Seattle up, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Seattle manager NHFoged said.
At 62-88, the Fury are currently 11th in the Ottoneu Lockdown League Yelich Division.
